Choosing the correct hat style of can be difficult. Although many hats look similar, each has subtle differences in design that suit different face and body shapes. Use the following tips to help you choose the perfect hat to match your style.
1. Choose your hat style to bring out your best features and minimize flaws. If you're small-featured, choose hats with narrower brims and shorter crowns. Shorter hat crowns also offset a longer nose and wide brims balance prominent chins and jaw lines.
2. Face shapes and neck sizes are an important part of choosing hat styles. Offset long or narrow faces with moderately wide brims and shorter crowns, round or wide faces with taller crowns and wide hat brims, short necks with narrow brims and long necks with shorter crowns and wider brims.
3. Hat styles in colors that somewhat contrast your complexion look best. However, a light colored hat on a short person with a dark complexion accents the shortness while a dark hat set atop dark hair or a dark complexion makes you look taller.
